Birmingham sits at the heart of England's motorway network. Both the M42 and M5 join together to become the M6 where the famous Spaghetti Junction feeds traffic in and around the city centre.

Black cabs are a familiar sight in Birmingham. Major taxi ranks can be found at New Street Station, Stephenson Street, The Mailbox and at Digbeth Coach Station. You can also book a local cab by asking any hotel, pub or restaurant that you happen to be in at the time to call one for you.

Travel West Midlands operates regular buses on many routes throughout the region.

Birmingham New Street lies at the heart of the city's rail network connecting to all the major routes throughout the country. Additional regional and local routes are run from Moor Street Station and Snow Hill Station.

Birmingham has a thriving multicultural and young population. It is serviced by three major universities: Birmingham City University, Aston University, and the University of Birmingham. The city's bus and rail companies both offer student discount and you can get a pass at one of the travel information kiosks in the city centre.
