As Birmingham has such a thriving student population, there isn't a day of the week that hasn't got some great entertainment or some kind of promotional extravaganza to attract the NUS card carrying fraternity.

In fact Birmingham has a brilliant reputation for cheap nights out, with discounts and some of the best student nights in the country. Many students start the night off at their Student's Union and all three universities, Aston, Birmingham and City of Birmingham, have their own splendid entertainment events.

Whether it is comedy at The Glee Club, which puts on a glittering array of non-circuit and established acts as well as singer songwriters, or nipping across to The Custard Factory complex to check out some of the many promotional nights on offer there, you'll always find something of interest to do on any night of the week.

Mondays sees Oceana opening up its doors for student frivolity and on Tuesdays you can get yourselves down to Birmingham Barfly for its 'Jump Around' night.

Wednesdays might see you take in a trip to the AMC cinema for a discounted show and on Thursday why not take a day trip to our National Sea Life Centre?

Whatever the day of the week, there is always something to do in Birmingham.
