Bar necessities

Student? On a budget? Don't despair. There are loads of places you can go and still have a great time. You don't need wads of cash, you're a student after all - discounts were made with you in mind.

Those clever people in the union have seen fit to produce your passport to price-cutting paradise. Yes, the NUS card will save you zillions (not really zillions, unless you drink one hell of a lot) by getting you cheap entry into clubs, pubs and bars, where they serve cheap drinks and play great music to help you unwind from the stress of your assignments.

In and around Birmingham there's usually a student night happening somewhere, even if it's at your own Students' Union bar. Please, don't neglect this paragon of student society. You need to look after your local Students' Union bar; care for it like you would an old friend, because when all else fails, there it will be, waiting for you once again.

Probably the best nights to go out will be week nights, as pubs and bars will have all their offers out to try and entice you into their establishment. So you have the upper hand, my friends and you should use it to get the best deal for you and your mates.
