The Birmingham music scene is thriving thanks to our lively and artistic student population. Also, many Brummies love a good night's entertainment going to gigs and keeping an eye out for new entertainment.

Did you know that there are over 600 students studying music at Birmingham City University alone? The university is home to the Birmingham Conservatoire, which is a major concert venue for many of Birmingham's major music promoters and hosts hundreds of events a year.

Many music festivals are held in Birmingham, bringing fun for the whole family. We have the Dragon Boat Festival and the Birmingham Jazz Festival taking place over the early summer period down at Brindleyplace. This attracts people from many different countries, all willing to share their culture with the people of Birmingham and beyond.

We have many live venues of course, such as The O2 Academy which puts on some great local and international acts and we also have the world renowned NEC and NIA centres, where you can catch the biggest and best bands in the world.

Travel around our local pubs and clubs and you'll often find local landlords willing to put on live music. Whether a full band or just a guy with a guitar, you'll have loads to choose from.
