There's certainly a wow factor when your family come to visit you in Birmingham. As a student you'll probably know all of the best places to take them, but maybe you're looking for some more advice?
You could take them to see the largest working Jewellery Quarter in the whole of Europe. What? You didn't know? Yes, Birmingham has the internationally famous School of Jewellery right on its doorstep and this school provides many of the inspirational designers that trade in the fascinating Jewellery Quarter.
The Jewellery Quarter isn't just for the fashion conscious though, as over the past few years there's been an increase in the numbers of galleries, restaurants and bars in the area, making it a superb visitor experience.
You could take yourselves off to the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, which has loads of fascinating artefacts and shows for you to take in. It's free of course, so you'll be saving money which you can then maybe spend in the cafe instead.
Have you been in the Town Hall yet? Following its multi-million pound refurbishment, the Town Hall provides the city with many concerts and exhibitions. It's a beautiful building, steeped in history that you can also see on one of the many city tours that exist.
Don't worry about keeping the shopaholics happy either. Why not take them to The Mailbox? One of the major attractions in our canalside development, The Mailbox is bursting with designer labels, trendy shops, restaurants and bars.
