<![CDATA[Black Market Empire's concert was a real success!]]> "The discovery of an empire"

Birmingham's Black Market Empire launched their debut EP "Forward" at a hot and packed Victoria pub, Birmingham on Saturday (31st July). The four piece, established in 2009, treated a capacity crowd of 120 sweaty gig goers to a storming set of original compositions and classic covers. Opening with the rocky "11 Numbers" and not letting up until the final chords of "A Town Called Malice" they furthered their reputation as one of Birmingham's finest unsigned bands.

With the crowd showing their support with yells of "BME, BME", crowd surfing and girls hoisted up on shoulders the night was a just another reminder of why these boys' gigs are a real night of entertainment and fun.

Most of the songs had a feel of classic British Rock n Roll with the anthemic "Begging You" being a personal favourite, they also showed their softer side particularly with the poignant "Unconditional", which is the opening track of the EP.

The gig to launch the EP comes after a year of headlining some of Birmingham's best live venues including The Rainbow, The Flapper, The Hare and Hounds etc and also playing with the likes of The Temper Trap, Bombay Bicycle Club and The Bluetones. Based on last nights crowd and performance the next gig at The Sunflower Lounge, Birmingham on August the 14th will be another packed and sweaty one, bring it on!
